The Commission Journey

How to Commission a Personal Piece?

Each bespoke weaving is created with its intended space, story and character in mind. From the initial idea through to the finished piece, I work closely with you to develop a design that feels personal and considered, using colour, texture and carefully chosen materials to bring your vision to life. Every piece is handwoven by me and made specifically for you, creating a unique work of art that is designed to belong in your space for years to come.

Step 1

SHARE YOUR VISION

Bring me a fully formed idea, a collection of references, a story, a colour palette, or if you aren’t sure simply a place or a feeling. Together, we’ll explore the possibilities and begin developing a weaving that feels personal to you and considered for its space.

Feel free to use some of my other works as inspiration, tell me what you like and what you don’t like, both are helpful.

Step 2

FROM IDEA TO DIRECTION

Once your initial ideas and thoughts are shared, I will contact you via your preferred communication channel to discuss your ideas, dimensions, colour palette, materials, timeline and budget. Once we’ve agreed on the direction, I’ll begin developing the concept and sourcing materials for your piece. We can even explore including personal items in the work, such as wood, seashells or stones.

Step 3

DESIGN DIRECTION

Following our conversation, I’ll begin developing the design for your piece, including a hand-drawn sketch if you’d like one, alongside a selection of materials. This gives us the opportunity to refine the direction together before the weaving begins.

Step 4

WEAVING

Once the design is approved, this is where your piece starts to take shape, as I bring together the colours, textures and materials we’ve chosen to create your bespoke weaving.

Step 5

THE WEAVING TAKES SHAPE

Throughout the weaving process, I’ll share progress images and updates so you can see your piece taking shape. There will be opportunities to share feedback along the way, while allowing the weaving to naturally develop and evolve.

Step 6

COMPLETION & DELIVERY

Once your weaving is complete and you’ve given your final approval, I’ll then carefully package and securely ship your finished piece, ready for it to find its place in your home.

'Rings of Time'
£390.00

47cm diameter

Rings of Time is an exploration of growth, time and the quiet beauty of the natural world. Woven by hand in layers of warm earthy tones, soft creams, rich browns and touches of autumnal orange, each textured ring reveals another layer, echoing the way a tree records the passing of seasons within its core.

Made slowly and intuitively, every fibre, texture and imperfect edge adds to its character, creating a piece that feels both grounded and organic. At its centre sits a small, almost hidden heart, a gentle reminder that within every passing year, season and chapter, there is a story being formed. Rings of Time is now looking for a new home, where it can bring warmth, softness and a little reminder of nature’s ever-changing rhythm to its surroundings.

'Highland Awakening'
£1,290.00

120cm x 84cm

Highland Awakening was inspired by a journey through the Scottish Highlands in spring, following winding paths upwards through the mountains and into the changing landscape. The layers of deep greens, soft blues, earthy browns and fresh spring tones echo the hills, lochs and valleys unfolding along the way, with each woven line representing another step upon the journey.

Like the mountains themselves, the piece speaks to the resilience found within us when life asks us to climb higher than we thought we could. The darker, deeper layers reflect the weight and challenges we encounter along the way, gradually giving way to lighter colours and fresh greens, a symbol of emergence, hope and the view that waits beyond the struggle. A reminder that sometimes the hardest paths lead us to the most beautiful places, and that with courage and perseverance, we can find our way through to the other side.

'Tides of Devon'
£740.00

120cm x 50cm

Inspired by a visit to the beautiful Devon coastline, this piece was created as a reflection of the landscape where land and sea meet. The changing colours of the coast, deep ocean blues, soft turquoise waters, earthy greens and warm sandy tones are woven together through layers of tactile fibres. Flowing, organic lines move across the piece like rolling waves and coastal currents, while the heavier textures and natural tones bring a sense of earth, rock and the rugged landscape back into the composition.

Created for a couple with a home in London, the piece is a celebration of the landscape they love to visit, the constant movement of the sea, the softness of the shoreline and the grounding presence of the land. Each layer was woven intuitively, allowing the fibres to form their own rhythm and movement, creating a piece that feels both wild and peaceful.
